Credit for CPE and IACET CEUs Requires Students to:

  • Be fully engaged in the educational process. 
  • Fulfill tuition requirements. 
  • Participate in group and individual supervision.
  • Adhere to the clinical practice site guidelines. 
  • Complete the 400 hours.
  • Remain in compliance with CPEI's Code of Professional Ethics. 
  • Submit a final evaluation.
  • Complete the post course/unit assessment. 
CPE 100-400 Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of CPE students will be able to:
  • Assess self-awareness and how one’s beliefs, attitudes, strengths, limitations, values, and assumptions affect one’s pastoral ministry.
  • Articulate insights from the behavioral/social sciences as a tool in pastoral care.
  • Address pastoral and spiritual needs of a diverse population.
  • Assess one’s ability to effectively use individuals and groups in a variety of personal and professional settings for purposes of clarification, consultation, and contribution.
  • Demonstrate an appropriate spiritual assessment and pastoral intervention(s) for one or more patients/clients.
  • Evaluate one’s embedded and deliberate theology and how it impacts one’s pastoral care.
  • Demonstrate the use of personal and pastoral authority in pastoral care
  • Explain one’s role as a pastoral advocate concerning medical ethical issues and appropriately apply and ethical decision-making process.
  • Describe the use of the use of others for consultation and support.
